Model Ordinance Information

Over the past several years the alarm industry has worked closely with agencies such the IACP - International Association of Chiefs of Police, NSA - National Sheriffs Association, FARA - False Alarm Reduction Association, to develop and refine successful elements for a solid alarm ordinance that will reduce alarm dispatches and many cases allow for cost recovery. These "best practices" and all recommendations from the MODEL STATES REPORT have been incorporated into the MODEL ORDINANCE. We estimate that over a thousand law enforcement agencies have used part or all of this model. In recent years we have found most law enforcement agencies prefer the SHORT (7 page) version over the COMPLETE (20 page) version which defines all administrative details. Both versions include provisons for ECV or MULTIPLE-CALL VERIFICATION and SIA CP-01 EQUIPMENT STANDARDS.
